Liu Xiangmin said that after the Wright brothers invented the aircraft, they did not get a lot of applications. This situation did not progress until the appearance of aluminum alloys, and aviation became an increasingly important part of transportation. "In the next 20 years, it should be 20 years of aluminum, and 20 years of development of aluminum materials, giving us a very good opportunity and window in the world."

When talking about the car lightweight business, Liu Xiangmin said that Chinalco is an industry, academia and research institute in this respect. "In the process of production and construction, the lightweight material manufacturing of automobiles is not a major obstacle. The application of engineering is the direction we must focus on. We have formed a series of products for the various parts and components of the automobile, and the material properties have also been obtained by the industry. Widely praised, including some parts that look simple but complex."
